In the UK a TUI news update has been issued with information about the re-starting of their flights and holidays. We hope that similar information is being issued in other countries in Europe.
The UK government’s guidance is that international travel should be on hold until 17 May 2021. TUI have reacted to that and do not plan to start flights and holidays before that date. Any customers who have booked a holiday before then will be contacted by TUI. The company also recognises that some people may not wish to take their holiday until a little later. Consequently, they are allowing people with bookings between 17 May and the end of June to make free changes up to 28 days prior to the booked departure date.
The TUI Holiday Promise also gives customers the opportunity to change their dates free of charge. This is in the event that they have to quarantine on return to the UK or are unable to travel because of Covid testing. They will also not operate flights and holidays to destinations that require quarantining on arrival – this is not currently a requirement in Cape Verde.
The TUI website shows that flights from London to Sal will start on 17 May and to Boa Vista on 18 May. It is to be hoped that this will also herald the start of TUI flights to Cape Verde from other cities in Europe.
