Tui flights to Cape Verde

This post is aimed at our UK readers, but if you are one of our European friends, you might be interested and able to provide us with some information (see below).

TUI is expecting to start flying to Cape Verde from the UK soon. They normally fly from several UK airports to Sal and Boa Vista. From both Sal and Boa Vista, it is possible to hop to other islands by domestic flight or ferry.

The ‘TUI Holiday Promise’ includes a number of Covid-19 provisions. These provisions cover package holidays, flight only holidays and accommodation only reservations. They include:

  • automatic cover for overseas medical assistance if you catch Covid-19. This includes testing costs and a flight home if needed;
  • cover for extended stay if required to quarantine while abroad;
  • free holiday amendment if you are required to isolate, or there is regional lockdown before your holiday dates;
  • 24 hour support while you are on holiday.

There is more information on the TUI ‘When can I go to Cape Verde?’ page. Where their terms and conditions can also be inspected. It is additional to travel insurance and not a substitute, so it is important to have travel insurance as well.

TUI has also put into place a number of precautions on their flights, following the latest government guidance and expert advice. Masks will need to be worn from check-in until after you have left the arrival airport. Passengers are also asked not to leave their seats during the flight unless absolutely necessary.

For visitors from the UK, the government has information on advice about travel to Cape Verde on their foreign travel website.
