The 12th Cabo Verde Music Awards Gala will take place on 3 June 2023 on the island of Sal. This will be the first time these awards have not been held on the island of Santiago. It represents a desire to take the even to other Cape Verde islands. The Gala will be held at the Meliã Dunas Resort in Santa Maria. Tickets for the Gala will be on sale during April. The organisers are working with travel agencies to provide a weekend package including travel from Praia, accommodation and tickets for the event. This was all announced by Maria João Brito, the Councillor for Culture on the island of Sal and the President of The Resort Group, Robert Jarrett. The slogan for the 12th Cabo Verde Music Awards is “The Future is Now”.
