Binter Canarias has announced that it will be recommencing its service between Gran Canaria and Sal. The intention is to commence this route in July. They are currently awaiting their certificate to fly from the Cape Verde authorities. Although the current proposal is only to last until the end of September, the company hopes then to start a winter schedule starting in October.
Binter Canarias has been flying into Africa for over ten years. Originally it was to Morocco, but it then expanded to The Gambia, Senegal, Mauritania, and Cape Verde. The Gran Canaria to Sal service was operational prior to the Covid-19 pandemic. It is further evidence that travel is getting back to something like normal and that Cape Verde is attracting the visitors it so badly needs after the hiatus during the last two years.
