Beaches on Maio island

The beaches on the island of Maio are beautiful and nearly always deserted. This beach is just beyond the port between Porto Inglês (Vila do Maio) and Morro. There are long stretches of soft white sand and the warm seas to swim or paddle in. Maio is the closest island to the capital, Praia (on the island of Santiago) and the flights from Praia to Maio only take 15 minutes. It is well worth a visit.
