For some years the Atlantis restaurant on the beach in Santa Maria on Sal island, was a landmark. Sadly in the autumn of 2016 the building burnt down. However, the new Atlantis is now open and offers a very smart interior and good food. There has been a gap on the lovely Santa Maria beach since 2016 and it is good that the popular venue is now back.
